He is a special effects artist and pioneer in the development of the use of computers in filmmaking. He was responsible for invention of the Dykstraflex motion-control computerized camera system for the movie Star Wars (1977). Dykstra and his team was lucky enough to win Academy Awards for best special effects and special technical achievement for this film. #starwars
