Cardboard Troops and Real Life Actors

This photo is from the film Dunkirk (2017). It is an upcoming epic action-thriller film written, co-produced and directed by Christopher Nolan. The story is set in World War II during the Dunkirk evacuation. So most of the scenes include a lot of soldiers. So the film crew has used an eye tricking technique to overcome this problem. They have used cardboard troops instead of real life actors. In this picture we can see a blend of cardboard troops and real life actors on the set of the film.
