City Lights (1931)
This still is from the film City Lights (1931). It is an American romantic comedy film written by, directed by, produced by and starring Charlie Chaplin. In this picture, Charlie Chaplin re-shot the scene in which the Little Tramp buys a flower from the blind flower-girl 342 times, as he could not find a satisfactory way of showing that the blind flower-girl thought that the mute tramp was wealthy. Doug Fairbanks is also can be seen on the set creating a rare moment of good humor on the troubled shoot. The actress Virginia Cherrill who plays the role of the blind girl is also their on the set.
