This behind the scene image is from the film The Impossible (2012). It is based on the experience of María Belón and her family in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Here in this model resort, the bungalows and surrounding buildings were crafted at 1:3 scale by Magicon GmbH in Munich under supervision by Henrik Scheib. Only three and a half bungalows were built and then duplicated in compositing. The film makers didn't use techniques to generate a tsunami, because the cost is very expensive. So they used real water for this purpose. The higher the capacity pumps are used to pump water into the studio with a speed of 3,000 liters / second. That is how they create tsunami for the film.

This photo was taken on the set of Need for Speed (2014). It is an American action film directed by Scott Waugh. The crew is filming the stunt scene - a real picture car is being picked up by a real helicopter. As we can see on the film, Atomic Fiction has provided visual effects touches to the scene with digital doubles inside the car and occasionally digital cables.

A production still from the movie The Matrix (1999). It is an American-Australian science fiction action film written and directed by The Wachowskis. The film is most known for popularizing a visual effect known as ‘bullet time’. It is a shot effect that progressing in slow-motion while the camera appears to be moving throughout the scene at normal speed. Each camera is a still-picture camera, and not a motion picture camera, and it contributes just one frame to the video sequence. When the sequence of shots is viewed as in a movie, the viewers sees what are in effect two-dimensional ‘slices’ of a three-dimensional moment. Watching such a ‘time slice’ movie is same a a real-life experience of walking around ‘in the scene’, from different angles. This picture shows the part of the bullet time rig which was used to create the famous bullet scene of the film.
