Pedro Guimaraes
Born the capitol of Brazil, Brasilia. The son of a diplomat he traveled the world growing up and ended up settling in Los Angeles and currently a dual citizen of Brazil and United States. His background in IT helped in jump into the emerging Digital Cinema revolution around 2007. This work lead to work with the re-emerging field of digital stereoscopic (3D) cinema. Under the masterful eye of 3D pioneer John Rupkalvis He helped create and develop a 3D single lens system for Phantom 65 camera. This work lead to continued work in the stereoscopic field as stereographer, camera operator, steadicam and as a cinematographer in BraZil's first live action 3D movie. In the recent years he has worked on several stereoscopic features and numerous 3D projects including music videos, commercials and Live 3D TV Broadcast events and many IMAX 3D productions. Working with many leading 3D production companies in the process such as 3ality, PACE Cameron, 21st Century 3D, Stereoscope Studios, Sweetwater,3rive, Discovery 3D and others. He has never stopped working with regular 2D TV, commercials and features. Maintaining himself very active operating steadicam on live concerts, music videos and features. Also know for expertly working with a handsfree segway and recently becoming a industry leader in small handheld stabilizer devices. A avid diver and adventurer, he has worked on many underwater productions in various capacities is a certified PADI Rescue Diver and has worked on many documentaries, nature and scripted feature films like Love and mercy. He has also spent some time in the air with a camera, shooting from helicopters, planes and recently working as part of the Clay Lacy aviation JET cinematography team. Needless to say he is a avid RC pilot and is well versed in Drone cinematography. A team player with a passion for telling stories and a deep love for his job.
